Fountain Pen Education was founded on a strong belief that education, connection, and compassion have the power to transform lives.
We believe that education, connection, and compassion ripple outward and upward.
It is estimated that there are approximately 2.3 million individuals incarcerated in correctional facilities all across the United States. Of those 2.3 million, it is estimated that 70% cannot read beyond a fourth grade level.
Fountain Pen Education provides correspondence-based literacy instruction to individuals incarcerated in correctional facilities across the nation.
Writing instruction provides a powerful means of personally connecting with individuals whose family connections are strained or shattered as a result of the incarceration.
Writing also provides an avenue for healing. It is an opportunity for personal stories to be told and shared, which engenders compassion. Stories matter.
People matter.

Connection.

Education.
